While welcoming the recent news of Government looking at noise issues and creating noise maps in compliance with the pertinent traffic noise directive, the ESG asks if they will also finally tackle the illegal noise levels coming from OESCO and the MoD power stations. These noise emissions have produced hundreds of complaints over the decades and affect a wide section of the population in the south district and beyond.

According to local residents the measures taken to mitigate noise levels from the OESCO power station have not made the slightest bit of difference.

Compared to these noise levels, traffic noise at Queensway and Winston Churchill Avenue pales into insignificance.
