What is Earth Day? This year marks the almost 40 years of this annual campaign which launches the beginning of “The Green Generation Campaign” that calls for a day of action and civic participation, to defend three core principles:
• A carbon-free future based on renewable energy that will end our common dependency on fossil fuels, including coal
• An individual’s commitment to responsible, sustainable consumption
• Creation of a new green economy that lifts people out of poverty by creating millions of quality green jobs and transforms the global education system into a green one

The ESG wholeheartedly supports this new campaign given its focus reflects our own objectives for a clean and healthy living environment and the need for community participation.
On Wednesday 22nd April the ESG and GONHS will have a presence outside the Cathedral in Main Street between 12.00 and 2.00pm with information on various projects and campaigns on display.
The ESG stall will display new anti-litter posters and invites those interested in participating in this year’s Clean up the World hands-on campaign to come along and register. NO2PB will also be on hand to provide information on its campaign.
The groups call on the community to lend support and come along and visit the stalls.
The ESG wishes to thank the Bonita Trust and We Care for sponsoring CUTW materials. Thanks also to Rotary International and Tarik Shipping for their donations to the campaign
